Abstract

O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar os conflitos socioambientais da Usina Hidrelétrica de Estreito (MA), a partir das vivências dos/as atingidos/as do Acampamento Coragem. A comunidade ocupa um território em Palmeiras do Tocantins (TO), que é de posse do Consórcio Estreito Energia (CESTE), empreendedor da usina, que disputa judicialmente a posse da terra desde outubro de 2015. Essa população tem enfrentado os conflitos ocasionados pela barragem de Estreito desde a sua instalação e continuam a sofrer os efeitos ocasionados pelo empreendimento. Com a vinda da barragem para a região tiveram seus direitos violados, tendo sido deslocados compulsoriamente, passando a migrar em buscas de novas territorialidades, enfrentando desmatamentos, mortandade de peixes e injustiças sociais. Os caminhos metodológicos seguem a pesquisa qualitativa, com observação participante e entrevistas exploratórias realizadas em novembro de 2019. Dessa forma, evidencia-se que os grandes empreendimentos pautam-se numa lógica neoliberal desenvolvimentista de se apropriarem dos recursos naturais como mola propulsora da economia.
