Abstract
À la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la France est affaiblie par les conflits qui ont pris place en Europe et en Afrique, alors elle réalise que son empire n’a plus la force d’administrer ses colonies avec autant de contrôle. Les autorités coloniales optent pour une ouverture stratégique de leur système politique. Avec la création de l’union française, une vague d’émancipation relative traverse les colonies françaises avec cependant l’intention pour la puissance coloniale de réformer dans le but de mieux contrôler. L’institutionnalisation du cadre de l’Union française en 1946, concrétise ce changement de mentalité. La France désire rompre avec l’image d’une puissance européenne violente1. Même dans ce contexte d’ouverture politique, il y a une opposition entre les nationalismes africains naissants et le gouvernement colonial.
