Abstract
Upaya pengolahan sampah pada sumbernya merupakan suatu keharusan mengingat Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) Sarimukti hanya menerima sampah sebesar 50%. Upaya tersebut meliputi mengurangi sampah dengan metode 3R (Reduce, Reuse dan Recylce) dan mengolah sampah mandiri melalui pengomposan sederhana dari sumber masing-masing. Wilayah RT 01/013 Desa Lengkong Kecamatan Bojongsoang merupakan pemukiman padat penduduk yang telah memiliki Tempat Pengelolaan Sampah Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (TPS 3R) Kelompok Swadaya Masyarakat (KSM) Bagja sejak tahun 2021. TPS 3R ini hanya menampung sampah 3 RW (RW 5, 9, dan 13) dari total 17 RW di Desa Lengkong. Artinya keberadaan TPS 3R KSM Bagja belum dapat menampung timbulan volume sampah sehingga menjadi permasalahan kesehatan dan kesehatan lingkungan. Kondisi diperparah saat TPA Sarimukti over capacity dan mengalami kebakaran. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat terutama RT 01/013 Desa Lengkong tentang pengolahan sampah organik rumah tangga. Metode pengabdian Masyarakat yang bertema ”Gerakan Cinta Sampah OrgaNIK” (Cinta SONIK) meliputi penyuluhan, edukasi, praktik pengolahan sampah organik dan pemberian bantuan alat pengolahan sampah berupa alat pembuat biopori dan EM4 sebagai pengurai bahan organik. Awal Pengabdian masyarakat didapatkan nilai rata-rata Pretest 62,63 yaitu Sebagian besar (73.7%) peserta berpengetahuan cukup tentang pengolahan sampah organik. Setelah dilakukan edukasi tentang pengolahan sampah organik terdapat peningkatan rata-rata pengetahuan peserta menjadi 84,73. Analisa data menyatakan ada perbedaan signifikan antara pengetahuan responden sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi tentang pengolahan sampah organik rumah tangga. Pengabdian Masyarakat yang telah dilakukan berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan Masyarakat RT 01/013 Desa Lengkong.
