Os deslocamentos rodoviários no Brasil passaram por mudanças significativas nessas primeiras décadas do século XXI com a inserção de técnicas informacionais e a ampliação no volume e quantidade de pessoas e cargas deslocadas por veículo, ocasionando mudanças espaciais e organizacionais. Esse contexto de mudanças está diretamente vinculado com as necessidades econômicas das empresas na atualidade, centradas na fluidez, controle e potencialização do uso de máquinas e equipamentos. Para abordar tais transformações optamos em focar no controle cada vez maior das operações no atual contexto em que o meio-técnico-científico-informacional se torna cada vez mais candente. Nesse texto vamos abordar as mudanças nos veículos que deslocam cargas e passageiros nas rodovias brasileiras. Esse enfoque se justifica pelas alterações e que denotam singularidades que estão vinculadas com demandas econômicas das empresas que atuam nos segmentos de transportes.
