A pesar de las persistentes críticas a la división entre educación y cuidado, según la investigación, las políticas y prácticas, continúan trazándose líneas divisorias entre la crianza, enseñanza y cuidado (cec) de la primera infancia (pi). Estos bordes se enfrentan con perspectivas que van más allá de la sectorialización del campo y que tienden hacia enfoques holísticos e integrales. Desde una perspectiva sistémica, en el presente artículo se explora la noción de líneas divisorias como una herramienta teórica para interrogar a los sistemas de cec, superando la mirada sectorial y la falsa oposición que divide educación y cuidado. El artículo, respaldado por un análisis empírico de las líneas divisorias existentes en el sistema cec en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (Argentina), examina dónde y cómo se dibujan estos bordes en la arquitectura institucional, en la esfera discursiva y en el territorio. El análisis arroja luz sobre la fragmentación y las desigualdades en los sistemas cec, un problema persistente en Argentina y América del Sur.
