Comment rendre compte, en quelques pages, des richesses et des diversités culturelles d’un continent dans lequel foisonnent plus de 1 500 langues et autant de sociétés ethnolinguistiques ? L’effort peut sembler vain, mais il est nécessaire tant les expressions culturelles, devenues artistiques, rythment le quotidien, transmettent les leçons de vie et marquent les passages de rites traditionnels toujours vivaces. Un survol de la création artistique en Afrique fait apparaître des artistes qui reflètent une longue histoire métissée et qui s’exportent actuellement aux quatre coins du monde .
