Cette thèse explore comment les relations sociales d’aînés s’intègrent dans leurs milieux de vie, et comment cette distribution spatiale de la vie sociale explique leur bien-être émotionnel. La population d’étude comprend 183 aînés âgés de 79 ans, non institutionnalisés, et habitant au Québec (Canada). Le premier volet présente le développement d’un outil cartographique permettant d’identifier les personnes rencontrées dans les lieux visités. J'ai ensuite représenté ces données sous la forme de réseaux bipartites. J’ai observé certaines structures récurrentes mettent en lumière la concentration de la vie sociale des aînés dans un nombre restreint de lieux d’activités, ainsi qu’une distribution spatiale différentielle de catégories de relations sociales spécifiquement associée au bien-être émotionnel. Ces résultats, ainsi que les méthodes développées dans cette thèse peuvent soutenir l’étude de l’influence des milieux de vie sur la santé et le bien-être des aînés.
