Abstract
En 2017, le gouvernement du Québec s’est engagé à améliorer l’accès aux soins et aux services de santé à l’ensemble de la population. Pour ce faire, il a déclaré qu’il allait créer 2 000 postes d’infirmières praticiennes spécialisées (IPS) d’ici 2024-2025. Des changements importants ont eu lieu dans les programmes universitaires d’IPS en 2017 afin de revoir les différentes classes de spécialités. De plus en plus d’IPS sont formées dans les universités et rejoignent graduellement les milieux cliniques. D’ailleurs, plusieurs changements dans les programmes universitaires ont eu lieu au même moment afin d’augmenter cette offre de services. C’est pourquoi la présence des IPS dans les urgences sera de plus en plus fréquente dans les années à venir.
