Abstract
Cet article se penche sur le travail de l’écriture de Gagnon, envisagé dans sa dimension subjective où se trouve mis à découvert le vide qui habite toute parole. S’y trouvent analysés les textes théoriques de Gagnon publiés au sein de périodiques et son premier texte poétique, où la quête d’atteindre ce vide – que Gagnon décline à travers l’image de « l’interstice signifiant » – est manifeste, voire explicitée : le recueil Antre (1978). Il s’agit dès lors de cerner, avec les écrits de Gagnon et en déployant certaines notions psychanalytiques qui impulsent son écriture (jouissance, réel, pulsion de mort), la nature de cet interstice, de même que ses potentialités poétiques et politiques. Car l’écriture, chez Gagnon, est à la fois ce qui permet d’explorer cet interstice et de ne pas y sombrer, un tel lieu étant conçu comme un espace de disparition, où les repères sont amenés à être dissous, mais aussi, et par là même, comme un espace à investir. L’article s’intéresse également aux conséquences institutionnelles de cette proposition poétique de Gagnon, dans son propre parcours et au sein de certains discours critiques ayant suivi ses publications.
