Abstract
Cet article explore l’hypothèse que Le deuil du soleil, en se construisant sur un manque sans cesse affirmé, s’offre comme une réponse forte aux propositions théoriques et esthétiques de Mallarmé. Abordant d’abord la question du temps, l’article s’intéresse ensuite au dispositif du nom propre ainsi qu’à la manière dont la couleur et la chromaticité influent sur la petite musique de cet ouvrage qu’on qualifiera finalement de « poème critique », forme par laquelle Gagnon réengage les enjeux historiques du Livre de manière à y privilégier la Loi des pairs à celle du père. Généreux et sororal, le poème critique qu’est Le deuil du soleil offre une remédiation d’enjeux largement occultés dans la pensée du Livre (soit la contribution des femmes et des humbles au domaine des Lettres) pour ainsi mieux sceller ce que Gagnon nomme elle-même le « destin de cette écriture des morts ».
