Abstract
Cet article porte son attention sur les textes essayistiques de Madeleine Gagnon afin de rendre compte d’un sujet du féminisme confronté à sa propre fin. Retraçant, à travers son oeuvre, les affiliations poétiques et rhétoriques de Gagnon à un féminisme dit de « deuxième vague », l’autrice tend à situer et à circonscrire l’effet, sur son écriture, du changement de paradigme que provoque l’avènement d’un féminisme de « troisième vague ». Elle considère les textes à l’aune d’une histoire des idées mobilisée par le concept de la « fin du féminin », limite conceptuelle qui met Gagnon face aux considérations de finalité et de finitude. Cette limite s’avère déterminante pour son écriture. Paradoxalement, le « féminin » se révèle à la fois vecteur d’absence, de disparition, de mort et principe créatif, en ceci qu’il est la condition même de l’écriture de Gagnon.
