Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The Hydrogen Intensity and Real-time Analysis eXperiment (HIRAX) is a next-generation radio interfero-metric array designed to perform 21-cm cosmology experiments, and understand fast radio bursts and dark energy. It will consist of a core array with 1024 tightly packed six-meter composite dishes located in the Karoo Desert, South Africa and outrigger arrays. The HIRAX core array, in its first phase, will be composed of 256 dishes and is expected to complete construction and receive its first light by 2025. Each core dish will be instrumented with a feed operating at 400–800 MHz, mapping the neutral hydrogen emissions in the red shift range of 0.8-2.5. The resulting maps will be used to measure the baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) and constrain dark energy. The outrigger arrays will have 8–16 dishes each and will be situated at a distance from the core array that provides them with 1000-km baselines. This baseline length allows the experiment to perform very long-baseline interferometry for detecting and localizing fast radio bursts (FRBs).

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
