Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses transmisi nilai sopan santun dari orangtua yang bersatus sebagai Abdi Dalem kepada anaknya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis fenomenologi yang melibatkan subjek 4 keluarga Abdi Dalem dari Kraton Yogyakarta dengan mewawancari ayah yang menjadi Abdi Dalem sebagai informan utama dan anggota keluarga terdekat sebagai informan tambahan, sehingga jumlah subjek penelitian adalah 8 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan di tempat tinggal responden yang berada di wilayah Bantul, Yogyakarta. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan metode, serta data dianalisis menggunakan konsep analisis Creswell (2019). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keempat keluarga memiliki persamaan pada proses transmisi nilai sopan santun kepada anak-anaknya yaitu menegur anaknya saat keliru dalam menerapkan sopan santun. Selain itu, pada semua keluarga terdapat kesamaan pada sopan santun yang ditanamkan pada anak yaitu penggunaan basa (Bahasa Jawa Krama) saat berbicara dengan orang lain terutama orang yang lebih tua.
