Abstract

This paper primarily discusses the design of a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) guided 4-DOF robot for epidural steroid injection (ESI) and experimental validation in free space. The study employed an Electromagnetic (EM) tracking system and a needle equipped with an EM sensor to determine the positioning error. The results demonstrated that the positioning accuracy was at the sub-millimeter level, demonstrating promising clinical application potential.
