The issue of waste management frequently escalates into conflicts in various regions of Indonesia, including North Bengkulu Regency. Therefore, a solution is imperative to address this problem, and one such approach involves nurturing Creative SMEs in waste management through the implementation of the 3R principles: reduce, reuse, and recycle. This initiative engages collaborative efforts with Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the village of Rama Agung in North Bengkulu Regency, specifically, DIRGA YUSA Creative SME and BUOCA SME, both aimed at managing household waste. DIRGA YUSA is a group of 11 members focusing on transforming plastic waste into artistic creations with market value, while BUOCA, consisting of 17 members, addresses organic waste like fruits and vegetables, repurposing them into environmentally friendly products. The project unfolds in three stages: introducing the concept of creative arts, enhancing the quality and quantity of production, and marketing the products. Evaluation involves the distribution of pretest and posttest questionnaires to assess the effectiveness of the initiative. Results indicate a substantial increase in the economic income of DIRGA YUSA by 58% and BUOCA by 72% following the collaboration between the Universitas Terbuka Bengkulu team and the North Bengkulu Regency Research and Development Agency in mentoring and guiding these waste-based creative SMEs.
