<p>Dalam proses pengembangan dan pembangunan banyak menggunakan beberapa cara, salah satu nya dengan cara melindungi lahan pertanian pangan dalam rangka untuk ketahanan pangan secara nasional maupun untuk daerah itu sendiri. Kabupaten Kendal mengesahkan peraturan daerah No. 11 Tahun 2020 tentang Perubahan atas Peraturan Daerah Kabupaten Kendal Nomor 13 Tahun 2013 tentang Perlindungan Lahan Pertanian Pangan Berkelanjutan di Kabupaten Kendal. Kedua Perda tersebut telah disesuaikan dan memuat penetapan lahan pertanian tanaman pangan yang tersebar di seluruh kecamatan di Kabupaten Kendal. Saat ini Kabupaten kendal sudah memiliki peta lahan pertanian pangan berkelanjutan, peta tersebut di sajikan dalam bentuk sistem informasi Geografis (SIG) berbasis desktop (standalone), seiring perkambangan jaman kini dapat diimplementasikan dalam sebuah web. Keutungan menggunakan web adalah mempermudah dalam mendapatkan informasi karena dapat di akses kapan pun dan dimanapu, kapasitas penyimpanan lebih besar dan dapat menampilkan informasi secara jelas.</p>
