Abstract
Este trabajo plantea que las dos primeras novelas de Leopoldo Marechal, publicadas respectivamente en 1948 y 1965, comparten una temática que se pone de relieve gracias a dos personajes menores cuya construcción intertextual remite al canto 26 del Inferno, donde Ulises cuenta su historia a Dante. Un análisis comparativo de la composición de ambos personajes, así como de su función en las novelas respectivas, arroja luz sobre la evolución de la visión novelística de Marechal y su exploración del límite del antropocentrismo.
