En considérant les événements qui ont entouré l’acquisition des archives de D. G. Jones pour l’Université de Sherbrooke, cette réflexion élargit la recommandation que nous avons formulée sur la narrativisation de la collecte et du retrait des documents qui composent les archives institutionnelles de l’auteur. En réfléchissant à la pré- et post-acquisition des documents et à la nature de la vérité au-delà des documents eux-mêmes, nous examinons où et quand les archives existent dans les limites des vies qui sont intervenues dans le déplacement entre le site primaire et l’espace institutionnel, et si on intériorise les archives au-delà à la fois de la vie de l’auteur et de la capacité de représentation des archives pour produire un sujet connaissable.
