This chapter helps the reader to understand the parametric definition of the modified Sommerfeld integration path circumventing the poles and the branch points of the spectra on the complex plane and its mapping to the complex plane. The discrete complex image method (DCIM) obviates expensive numerical integration procedure through fitting of the spectra with complex exponentials enabling evaluation of the Sommerfeld integrals in a closer form using Sommerfeld Identity. In the single-level DCIM, the readers only use the straight line path to fit the spectrum of a Green's function component. The single-level DCIM may encounter difficulty when the spectral domain Green's function does not decay sufficiently fast. Issues of numerical robustness are briefly in relation to the number of complex exponentials taken in the generalized pencil of function (GPOF) and the number of samples utilized for discretization of the spectrum.
