L’articolo esamina le circostanze della pubblicazione del primo romanzo di Alba de Céspedes, Io, suo padre. Romanzo sportivo, uscito nel 1935, e lo colloca nel contesto della letteratura dello sport degli anni ’30 e della produzione dell’editore Carabba. La valutazione di nuovi elementi permette di analizzare diversamente i pochi documenti a disposizione e di interpretare in modo nuovo sia il ruolo dell’editore nel commissionare il tema sportivo, sia la probabile destinazione cinematografica della storia. Questo studio vuole contribuire a una valutazione bilanciata della relazione tra il lavoro dell’autrice e la propaganda fascista.
