Abstract
Heidi Chan interviews four Toronto-based modular designers with the aim of exploring how their personal and technical backgrounds align with their differing affinities to certain synthesizer systems and design lineages and philosophies. The interviews provide insights into the nature of the modular community around questions of instrument design and use as well as highlighting the challenges involved in running small Eurorack companies.
