Baseline Corticosteroid use and surgery history among patients with chronic Rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps in the AROMA registry
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Introduction AROMA (NCT04959448) is a prospective global registry study that characterizes real-world use of dupilumab for patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). This analysis reports corticosteroid use and surgery history at baseline. Methods AROMA recruits adults with CRSwNP initiating dupilumab and follows them for up to 36 months. Baseline assessments include demographics, disease characteristics, and medical and surgical histories. Results As of February 2023, 303 patients were recruited, mean (SD) age 50.8 (13.4) years and 49.5% male. In the 24 months prior to enrollment, oral/systemic corticosteroid use was reported by 68.6% of patients, and 45.2% were prescribed antibiotics for CRSwNP. In the 12 months prior to enrollment, 103 patients received prednisone, 26 received methylprednisolone, and 28 received prednisolone. Mean (SD) cumulative doses of oral/systemic corticosteroids in last 12 months were 110.6 mg (260.4) for prednisone, 67.0 mg (193.9) for methylprednisolone, and 272.7 mg (379.0) for prednisolone. 187 (61.7%) patients had prior sinonasal surgery, 69 (22.8%) two or more surgeries, and 116 (38.3%) no surgery. Conclusion Adults with CRSwNP initiating dupilumab have a high burden of oral/systemic corticosteroid and antibiotic use, and many have undergone multiple surgeries for CRSwNP. Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.

machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
