Dans un environnement numérique caractérisé par un foisonnement de productions transmédiatiques, l’univers de Carmilla: The Webseries (Hall and Simpson 2014–2016) et de sa suite The Carmilla Movie se distingue par le phénomène culturel qu’engendre auprès des audiences queer ce remaniement de l’œuvre classique de Sheridan Le Fanu (1872). Peu d’études s’étant penchées sur la websérie et aucune encore sur sa conclusion cinématographique, cet article propose une analyse comparative de leurs caractéristiques formelles afin de dégager les expérimentations stylistiques queers encouragées par la transmédialité et la remédiation. Si la websérie renouvèle, en recourant au numérique, les caractéristiques des débuts de la télévision comme la vie domestique, l’illusion du direct et l’accent sur les dialogues, le film retourne au fini plus léché du cinéma classique, sans toutefois tourner le dos à sa propre excessivité stylistique. Cette divergence s’incarne dans le contrôle du regard filmique opéré ou non par les personnages, particulièrement dans la représentation de leur intimité sexuelle de femmes lesbiennes.
