Abstract
abstract. Slum settlements are settlements that are unfit for habitation because they do not meet the requirements for housing both technically and non-technically. A slum settlement can be said to be the embodiment of poverty, because generally it is in slum settlements that poor people live and we often encounter them in urban areas. Kebon Jayanti sub-district is designated as a slum area in Kiaracondong District, Bandung City, so it is necessary to handle slum settlements in accordance with the environmental characteristics of Kebon Jayanti sub-district with the aim of formulating efforts to handle slum areas in Kebon Jayanti sub-district. The methods and analysis carried out are quantitative and qualitative approaches with a weighting system in the process of calculating slum levels. Meanwhile, to determine the treatment efforts used are identifying existing areas and calculating the level of slums. So the results of this research show that the level of slums is in the light slum category with the legality of the land being legal and other considerations being high. The effort to handle the results of this research is to carry out restoration work to repair and rebuild housing and settlements into livable housing and settlements. Abstrak. Pemukiman kumuh adalah pemukiman yang tidak layak huni karena tidak memenuhi persyaratan untuk hunian baik secara teknis maupun non teknis. Suatu pemukiman kumuh dapat dikatakan sebagai pengejawantahan dari kemiskinan, karena pada umumnya di pemukiman kumuhlah masyarakat miskin tinggal dan banyak kita jumpai di kawasan perkotaan. Kelurahan Kebon Jayanti ditetapkan sebagai kawasan permukiman kumuh di Kecamatan Kiaracondong Kota Bandung sehingga perlu dilakukannya penanganan permukiman kumuh sesuai dengan kondisi karakteristik lingkungan di Kelurahan Kebon Jayanti dengan tujuan untuk merumuskan upaya penanganan kawasan permukiman kumuh di Kelurahan Kebon Jayanti. Metode dan analisis yang dilakukan adalah metode pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan sistem pembobotan dalam proses perhitungan tingkat kekumuhan. Sedangkan untuk menentukan upaya penanganan yang digunakan adalah identifikasi eksisiting dan perhitungan tingkat kekumuhan. Sehingga hasil dari penelitian ini, tingkat kekumuhan termasuk kategori kumuh ringan dengan legalitas lahan yaitu legal dan pertimbangan lainnya adalah tinggi. upaya penanganan dari hasil penelitian ini yaitu dengan melakukan pemugaran yang dilakukan untuk Perbaikan dan Pembangunan kembali Perumahan dan Permukiman menjadi Perumahan dan Permukiman yang layak huni.
