Abstract
Deux oeuvres chorégraphique majeures, Trio A (1966) d’Yvonne Rainer et L’après-midi d’un faune (1912) de Vaslav Nijinski, sont observées ici au prisme d’une certaine réserve quant au désir et aux régimes scopiques qui pèsent sur l’art chorégraphique. Si l’on choisit de les appeler des danses qui laissent à désirer, ce n’est pas seulement parce que ces danses ont voulu décevoir les attentes, c’est surtout parce qu’elles ont proposé de nouvelles équations érotiques pour l’art chorégraphique. Refusant de jouer sur l’exhibition, l’excitation ou la fascination, ces danses ont travaillé le désir à partir de ses mouvements mêmes, qui sont mouvements de dérivation et de relance. Pour chacune de ces oeuvres, on analyse un motif discret, voire secret, de la partition chorégraphique, une intrigue perceptive que les artistes ont logée dans la fabrique de leurs gestes, afin de les porter à la figurabilité.
