L’intervention collective fait partie des professions atypiques, peu codifiées, mais ayant un socle commun contribuant à l’émergence d’un nouveau champ disciplinaire. De 2015 à 2020, douze récits biographiques relatant l’expérience de personnes chevronnées et engagées dans des pratiques d’intervention collective notoires au Québec ont été publiés. Afin de mieux saisir la profession dans sa complexité et sa spécificité, ces douze récits ont fait l’objet d’une analyse transversale qui constitue l’essentiel du présent ouvrage. Faire appel à l’expérience et à la réflexion critique de ces personnes permet d’aborder des dimensions peu explorées comme la posture éthique, la fonction d’accompagnement, les défis et conditions de la participation des citoyens, les rapports complexes avec les élus locaux et les rôles des intervenantes et intervenants dans les systèmes locaux d’action et les concertations en développement des communautés. Cet ouvrage s’adresse ainsi à ces intervenantes et intervenants, aux organismes qui les emploient, de même qu’à celles et ceux qui étudient en vue de pratiquer l’intervention collective.
