Les finances publiques des pays anglo-saxons sont diverses et originales. Les règles, les procédures et les institutions façonnées à Londres ont été globalement conservées dans les anciennes colonies de l'Empire britannique et ont influencé bien d'autres pays. Après leur indépendance, les Etats-Unis, le Canada, l'Australie, la Nouvelle-Zélande et La République d'Irlande ont su construire un système financier qui leur est propre et qui, au tournant du XXIe siècle, alimente un nouveau jeu d'influences de tradition anglo-saxonne.
