Abstract

O presente artigo, baseado nos estudos bibliográficos, objetiva analisar a importância da leitura na formação da criticidade do aluno, uma vez que a leitura é fundamental para a aquisição do conhecimento e da autonomia. É por meio da leitura que podemos formar cidadãos críticos, capazes de compreender o mundo que os cerca. Entendemos como leitor crítico reflexivo o indivíduo que desenvolve muito mais que a habilidade de decodificar signos linguísticos, mas que também pratica a leitura de forma competente buscando um sentido para o que lê e questionando o que está escrito a partir de uma realidade. Veremos também a importância dos professores trabalhem com uma variedade de textos com o objetivo de despertar nos alunos o gosto e o prazer pela leitura. Os principais autores que embasaram essa pesquisa são: Brandão, Freire, Martins, Silva, Soares e Ruiz. Dada a importância do tema, todos os tópicos abordados foram também fundamentados de acordo com os PCNs. Espera-se que as considerações aqui apresentadas possam subsidiar estudos posteriores, já que a temática discutida não se esgota.
