Abstract
O presente artigo foi elaborado a partir da sistematização do I Encontro Paraense de Agroecologia, realizado em Santarém, região Oeste do Pará, em março de 2023. Com o tema “Agroecologia, tecendo redes por soberania alimentar e popular nos territórios amazônicos”, o encontro reuniu cerca de 200 pessoas de diversas organizações e movimentos sociais da Amazônia paraense vindas de todas as regiões do estado. Durante o encontro, foi possível a escuta de uma série de experiências comunitárias e práticas agroecológicas que, conectadas aos direitos territoriais, revelam-se como possibilidades exitosas de conservação das florestas e da biodiversidade. Nesse sentido, o objetivo do presente artigo é analisar o estado atual do debate realizado por organizações comunitárias e movimentos sociais e sindicais sobre a importância de suas experiências no atual contexto de emergência climática, tecendo uma análise de suas críticas sobre as propostas de conservação das florestas baseadas na mercantilização da natureza e dos bens comuns, como o mercado de carbono. A partir disso, foi possível constituir um conjunto de perspectivas que orientam a ação política dos sujeitos que vivem em territórios ameaçados e identificar estratégias de difusão dessas práticas, como forma de autodefesa e garantia de soberania alimentar e territorial, e justiça climática.
