Este artigo busca compreender como determinadas culturas articulam mente-cultura-ambiente a partir da mediação dos humanos e não-humanos no uso do território. Os loci de pesquisa foram comunidades que têm intenso contato com a natureza, na Amazônia brasileira e em Atikamekw Nehirowisiwok no Québec, Canadá. Esse intenso contato é compreendido como a interpenetração de dimensões pragmáticas e abstratas, virtualizadas, configuradas como pólos que ora se aproximam e se distanciam. É uma pesquisa descritivo-analítica, baseada na observação participante e na descrição etnográfica como instrumentos de construção da análise heurística. Os territórios são distribuídos por meio da me- diação humanos e não-humanos, originando territórios invisíveis onde vigoram uma ecologia moral – dispositivo que entrelaça códi- gos éticos além do humano, resultado dessas mediações.
