To fulfill the growing demands for high data rates in visible light communications (VLC), this letter proposes a user-centric access point (AP) clustering mechanism tailored for indoor VLC systems. Specifically, a stable matching is devised to establish connections between VLC user equipments (UEs) and APs, with the overarching optimization goal of maximizing the sum achievable system rate (SASR). Moreover, we conduct a thorough analysis encompassing the effectiveness, stability, convergence, and complexity of the proposed mechanism. Simulation results highlight its superiority over benchmark approaches in terms of both the average achievable user rate and the SASR.
