Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The physiological consequences of exhaustion in fish lead to an impaired ability to perform exercise and, in extreme cases, death.Early research examining this phenomenon can be traced back to the seminal research of Black in 1958.Our understanding of the consequences of exhaustion in fish has advanced significantly since then, thanks to the work of Wood in 1983 and many other fundamental physiologists. The overarching goal of my thesis was to provide an updated perspective on the physiological mechanisms of exhaustion in fish and fill gaps in fisheries research to inform fisheries managers with actionable, applicable knowledge.I conducted a comprehensive review of contemporary literature that examined the fundamental physiological mechanisms responsible for exhaustion and post-exercise mortality in fish.My

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
