Abstract
Comment une communauté politique qui n’a pas le contrôle d’un État, ni même d’un territoire arrive-t-elle à avoir une emprise sur elle-même ? Comment s’organise-t-elle pour avoir le pouvoir d’agir sur son devenir ? Cet ouvrage montre comment les Acadiens du Nouveau-Brunswick se sont constitués en communauté politique structurée en grande partie par un réseau d’organismes et d’institutions. Il examine comment les projets politiques collectifs acadiens sont nés et se sont modifiés au fil du temps. L’organisation sociopolitique des Acadiens a progressivement permis à cette minorité d’acquérir le pouvoir d’influencer les autres instances qui ont une incidence sur ses conditions d’existence, tout en assurant une régulation interne du groupe et en participant à la définition de ses contours et au maintien d’une certaine cohésion sociale. Cette manière de vivre ensemble est cependant mise au défi dans le contexte actuel caractérisé par la multiplication des porte-paroles et les questionnements d’inclusion identitaire.
