Abstract
Ce volume réunit 14 études linguistiques et sociolinguistiques portant sur le français parlé dans différentes communautés francophones en Amérique du Nord, notamment le Québec, l’Acadie, la Nouvelle-Angleterre et la Louisiane. Partant de l’idée qu’une meilleure compréhension de ces français passe par l’étude conjointe des pratiques langagières des locuteurs et des dynamiques sociolinguistiques au sein desquelles ces pratiques prennent forme et évoluent, les contributions s’articulent en deux volets. D’une part, le thème « Idéologies linguistiques et discours d’autorité dans les communautés francophones » regroupe des articles dont le but est d’étudier des discours qui ont marqué l’imaginaire linguistique des francophones d’ici. D’autre part, les articles rangés sous le thème « Description des multiples normes et usages des français d’ici » mettent en évidence le besoin d’explicitation de la norme qui oriente les pratiques des francophones d’ici ainsi que l’important effort de description qui continue à animer les linguistes s’intéressant à ces pratiques.
