En esta propuesta presentamos Wikidata, un proyecto asociado a Wikipedia, una herramienta abierta, colaborativa y políglota lo que la hace innovadora e interesante para manejar datos biológicos in silico, los invitamos a usar esta plataforma web como un recurso didáctico para el aprendizaje de la biología. En este ensayo nos enfocaremos en dar un ejemplo de su uso en la biología del color en los felinos, creando declaraciones conformadas por propiedades y elementos que permiten producir y visualizar información relacionada con diferentes características de los organismos como coloración, sexo, especie, origen del color, tonos y patrón del color, que facilita a los estudiantes desarrollar habilidades biológicas, informáticas e informacionales en un contexto dinámico y entretenido.
