Abstract
Regional healthcare systems play an essential role in providing comprehensive, coordinated care to diverse populations in different geographical regions. These systems comprise hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers working collaboratively to meet the specialized healthcare needs of their constituents. By pooling services and resources into one entity, regional healthcare systems expand access to care while improving patient outcomes and simultaneously eliminating health disparities. This chapter addresses various regional healthcare systems and their functions and the challenges they encounter across nations like the United States, the UK, Canada, Jamaica, and South Africa. Furthermore, design firms play a pivotal role in creating successful regional healthcare systems.
