Abstract
Le Québec est un territoire composé d’une diversité d’espaces urbains, ruraux, régionaux, métropolitains, côtiers et nordiques. Il est en mouvance : polarisation des lieux à différents degrés, érosion de zones rurales et urbaines, extension des lisières périurbaines, densification de nouvelles formes territoriales. La politique publique québécoise tente de saisir et de comprendre globalement les contextes territoriaux particuliers et évolutifs afin d’y appliquer des mesures en ce qui a trait à l’aménagement d’infrastructures et d’équipements, à la gestion de biens et de services collectifs et au soutien aux initiatives économiques, sociales et culturelles. Les textes rassemblés dans le présent ouvrage jettent une nouvelle lumière sur la politique territoriale du Québec, sur son évolution autant que sur ses limites. Des experts universitaires y modélisent les tenants et aboutissants du chemin parcouru dans ce domaine au cours des dernières décennies. Ils proposent de solides perspectives d’analyse ainsi que des options concrètes pour l’amélioration des actions et des interventions publiques territorialisées.
