Abstract
À travers les errances de l’homme, aussi bien dans son rôle de coupable que dans son état de victime, Stamatios Tzitzis cherche à définir les traits fondamentaux de l’humanisme d’aujourd’hui. L’auteur étudie la possibilité d’actualiser les valeurs classiques qui ont fait prospérer l’humanité. Il explique comment les éthiques modernes sont impuissantes à combler le vide existentiel engendré par les morales déconstructives et envisage la personne comme le vecteur de la reconnaissance du mérite et de l’unicité de chaque homme tout en consolidant les relations d’altérités. Pour Stamatios Tzitzis, il n’y a de véritable respect d’autrui qu’en admettant la singularité de chacun et en mettant en exergue la dignité personnelle. Qu’est-ce que la personne ? (Armand Colin, 1999), La personne, l’humanisme et le droit (Presses de l’Université de Laval, 2002) et La personne. Criminel et victime constituent une trilogie mettant en lumière la personne, dans ses multiples rôles existentiels, face à l’ordre, à la fois contraignant ou protecteur, du droit.
