Abstract
Le livre savant La question raciale et raciste dans le roman québécois (1995), de Gérard Étienne, se fonde sur une recherche anthropo-sémiotique importante. Elle vise à faire prendre conscience des non-dits et des points aveugles dans les relations de pouvoir de la société québécoise, ainsi que du consensus où circulent diverses formes de racisme. Les comptes rendus savants du texte d’Étienne qui n’osent pas tenir compte de l’état des faits présenté participent aussi de ces non-dits. Par l’exploration de ce corpus métacritique et de la recherche avant-gardiste de l’écrivain, inscrite dans la montée du Black Power, du postcolonialisme, du multiculturalisme et de l’interculturalisme, on montre l’évolution des rapports de pouvoir dans la société québécoise contemporaine.
