Cet article enquête sur la place accordée à la compréhension des mesures associées aux actions de communication dans les formations québécoises en communication numérique. Ces métiers ont en effet un recours de plus en plus systématique à des outils permettant de mesurer les traces d’activités des publics ciblés ou de celles provoquées par les actions de communication. Cependant, un écart est régulièrement constaté à la fois entre leur usage systématique et leur reconnaissance controversée par les praticien.nes, mais aussi entre leur place prépondérante au sein des activités des praticien.nes et le peu de compréhension qu’elles et ils semblent en avoir. Ce paradoxe, a fait émerger l’hypothèse que la facilité d’accès à ces mesures ne s’accompagne pas d’une formation à leur usage réfléchi. L’analyse des formations offertes au Québec confirme cette hypothèse. Ce constat nous amène à conclure sur les besoins en formation afin de développer une véritable métrologie chez les communicateurs et communicatrices.
