Abstract
L’atelier du sculpteur Étienne-Maurice Falconet à Saint-Pétersbourg est connu pour avoir été le lieu de création de la célèbre Statue équestre de Pierre le Grand, commandée par Catherine II. Réaliser une étude en passant par le lieu, comme lieu de rencontre, apporte, dans le cas de l’atelier, un nouveau regard sur un sujet qui reste encore à exploiter. Cela permet, entre autres, d’enrichir notre compréhension de la sociabilité d’un sculpteur parisien à Saint-Pétersbourg, ainsi que d’examiner l’émergence de l’intérêt des Russes pour l’art de la sculpture.
