Après avoir constaté que les déictiques (« je », « ici » et « maintenant ») sont incessamment déstabilisés dans la prose d’Anne Hébert, nous cherchons à lever le voile sur les stratégies mises en oeuvre par les réalisateurs qui ont transcréé Kamouraska (Jutra, 1973), Les fous de Bassan (Simoneau, 1987) et Le Torrent (Lavoie, 2012) pour rendre compte des confusions identitaires des personnages à l’écran. Nous nous penchons d’abord sur les phénomènes représentatifs de l’instabilité de la situation déictique dans les textes (sous-tendant les questions « je est-il un autre ? », « où est ici ? » et « maintenant, mais quand était-ce ? ») pour ensuite lister les opérations de montage et le travail de la bande-son des films ayant pour but de transcréer ces lacunes des personnages et narrateurs hébertiens à l’écran.
