O “Projeto Falcão” teve seu início em 18 de agosto de 2023 com a aplicação de dois novos helicópteros, com grande tecnologia embarcada, no serviço exclusivamente policial, firmando em Curitiba e Cascavel, tripulações diariamente aplicadas com o intuito de elevar o padrão de policiamento aéreo preventivo e repressivo no Estado do Paraná. Neste artigo científico, original, temos a finalidade de subsidiar o Comando da Corporação com dados da aplicação do Projeto, além de apresentar de forma direta o emprego de helicópteros no desempenho de atividades policiais, visando o constante aprimoramento das Operações Aéreas. Diferente do que ocorria no passado no Batalhão de Polícia Militar de Operações Aéreas, onde o helicóptero era aplicado em apoio aéreo de ações repressivo-imediatas ou operações previamente planejadas, atualmente o BPMOA também segue um programa de patrulhamento aéreo preventivo. Analisamos as doutrinas operacionais da Unidade, aliada ao objetivo de reduzir índices criminais e de violência, trazendo um suporte mais moderno e eficaz aos policiais da linha de frente, com aplicação de maior tecnologia embarcada em helicópteros.
