Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kendari, Sulawesi Tenggara. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh keberadaan logam berat terhadap tingkat kesuburan tanah di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pengkajian literatur dengan mengumpulkan beberapa data sekunder dari berbagai penelitian yang telah dilakukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan logam berat terakumulasi di dalam tanah pada batas wajar hingga melebihi batas ambang dan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat kesuburan tanah. Logam berat yang telah melewati ambang batas keberadaan di dalam tanah oleh Ministry of State for Population and Enviromental of Indonesia, and Dalhousie, University Canada, dapat menyebabkan turunnya tingkat kesuburan terhadap tanah, bersifat toksik dan dapat berakibat buruk terhadap kesehatan manusia. Sedangkan untuk logam berat yang masih berada di bawah ambang batas, bersifat aman dan memiliki pengaruh yang cukup baik terhadap tingkat kesuburan tanah.
