Abstract
The International Society for Laboratory Hematology (ISLH) continues to provide a strong focus on education. Each year there is a premeeting educational workshop, the day before the ISLH annual meeting, and this year is no different, with an excellent slate of speakers, and with a new twist; the topics are on the theme of coagulation. Last year's educational workshop presentations have been given again this year as well-attended live webinars, which are free to all at the time of presentation, and archived on the ISLH website with free access to members. In addition, several of the webinars have companion articles in the open access educational issue of International Journal of Laboratory Hematology (IJLH).1-3 In keeping with the ISLH focus on education, the ISLH board approved a reduction in fees to the annual ISLH meeting for trainees (residents/fellows/students). Also, there is a new ISLH membership category for training programs, with graded membership rates for up to 5, 10 or 15 trainees. The new training program category includes IJLH journal subscription. This year's annual meeting of ISLH in Nantes is also available to virtual attendees, allowing for more participation in these resource-constrained times. The remote registration includes live and on-demand access to symposia and parallel sessions, on-demand viewing of posters, and access to on-demand meeting content. We are all learners and educators, and it is important to be mindful in your educational activities for both of these roles, and it is suggested to take this opportunity to reflect on the underlying principles of adult education.4 I would like to bid you farewell as your VP of education for the past 3 years, and look forward to supporting the new VP of education as of May 2024.
