Abstract
Cet article porte sur la représentation de la sexualité dans l’oeuvre d’Anne Hébert; plus précisément, sur la matérialité des échanges sexuels. En prenant comme élément central le motif de la « désirance » des personnages féminins, l’analyse permet d’isoler quatre cas de figures : les femmes prises, violées; les femmes désirantes auxquelles est imposé un rapport violent; les femmes désirantes dont le désir n’est pas reconnu et, enfin, les femmes désirantes qui rencontrent un homme tout aussi désirant. Au final, cette lecture, qui s’appuie aussi bien sur la sociologie de la sexualité, la notion de genre et des rapports sociaux de sexe que sur la notion d’intersubjectivité, permet de revisiter certaines interprétations critiques sur la sexualité des femmes chez Hébert – notamment en regard de leur agentivité sexuelle.
