Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Chapter 3 discusses transnational organizing by two migrant caregiver organizations in Canada. It focuses specifically on their participation in the deliberations in 2010 and in 2011 leading up to the creation of the Convention on Domestic Work at the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, and the 2011 International Migrants Alliance in Manila, Philippines. It addresses the dynamics that these organizations encountered in transnational spaces and highlights the various negotiations representatives of these organizations had to make when considering what care and care activism should look like when scaled up. It also highlights how these organizations carve out spaces in these international fora to make sure that activists were heard.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
