Book Review: Research Methods in Critical Security Studies: An Introduction
Bibliographic record
Abstract
critical role in the escalation or elimination of another rivalry.Further, the authors' emphasis on the zero-sum nature of Sino-Indian rivalry in the Asian region neglects the prospect of the two countries cooperating in other domains.Sino-Indian rivalry is indeed a regional phenomenon with global implications.Still, cooperation is possible, such as by developing infrastructure in Africa, establishing energy corridors from West Asia to South Asia and Southeast Asia, and safeguarding maritime domains in the Indian Ocean Region from pirate attacks. The multidimensional cooperation between India and China can elevate the status of both states.Being members of key multilateral organizations, India and China are seeking to lead a multipolar global order.Their collaborative efforts are crucial to redefining and sustaining the emerging order.Institutions like BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation can ameliorate the status anxiety between India and China.Overall, the book brings forward interesting arguments, linking positional elements of rivalry as central to the India-China rivalry. This framing challenges how we look at China-India relations and marks a new entry point into how status plays a detrimental role in rivalry models, and a new opportunity for literature on rising states and the changes happening in IR.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
