Abstract
Este artigo explora as noções de espaço de O Necromante e os significados desses espaços, internos ou externos, enquanto parte necessária para o desenvolver das aparições – sejam elas pretensamente verdadeiras – com se observa na primeira parte do romance a partir de uma “fonte oral”, ou armações de charlatanismo, conforme explica a segunda parte do romance em sua “fonte escrita”. Além da ambientação espacial tipicamente gótica, há ainda o uso da sinestesia presente no romance. Nesse sentido, as cores, cheiros e percepções que os personagens experimentam na trama adquirem significados direta ou indiretamente ligados à proposta do romance em que Flammenberg lidou com leituras do Götz von Berlinchingen, de Goethe (1773), e também com o evento histórico da queda da Bastilha (1789), dentro da proposta de “liberdade, igualdade e fraternidade” francesa, fato que muito instigou os escritores alemães e a Kraftgenie, particularmente quanto à “liberdade” da criação.
