Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

To correctly measure noise in a hybrid anechoic wind tunnel, modifications to the acoustic signal as the pressure propagates through the boundary layer and Kevlar wall must be considered. Laser-induced plasma (LIP) forms a non-intrusive acoustic impulse point source within the wind tunnel test section. This method facilitates the experimental study of the acoustic propagation function and the verification of the point spread function of a phased microphone array (PMA) and its beamforming algorithms. A series of LIP experiments were conducted at the UTIAS hybrid anechoic wind tunnel. Plasma formation was consistently achieved, and acoustic measurements from reference microphones and a PMA were conducted with synchronized photodetector measurements over several facility configurations and flow conditions. The acoustic source is shown to be predictable and is consistent with other studies. The shear layer refraction corrections are found to match those proposed for an open-jet. Kevlar and boundary layer attenuation are also compared to some previously established models and behave comparably.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
